Aged Care

Senator Hinch moved the first call in the Senate for nurse ratios in aged care facilities. The Liberal/National Government opposed him and so did the Labor Party and the Greens. The Justice Party pushed hard for the Aged Care Royal Commission which finally happened and insisted the government implement all Royal Commission recommendations within 12 months.

The nurses' union also pushed hard for mandated aged care staffing ratios which must be achieved uniformly around the country.
